I must be doing something wrong but what ?

hey i was wondering if you could help me a little,

I am a guy aged 25 and 16st 11lb.

i have been trying for the past 4 weeks to shift a few pounds and feel healthier but i havent had any success just yet.

I have been going to the gym for 4 weeks 3-4 times each week. in each session i have been doing at LEAST 40 minutes of spinning at high intensity resulting in me being covered in sweat ( so i know i am definatly working out !!). after the cardio work out i hit a few weights working on shoulders and arms, no more than 3 machines with 3 sets of 10 reps.

I would have thought that the above work out over 4 weeks would have given some sort of result by now ?

I am going to go to the gym anyway as there is nothing better to do after work anyway but i am almost losing faith in the whole project

my diet is not that bad, usually start the day with toast with butter, lunch is a sandwich, crisps and a soft ( non fizzy) drink. dinner is usually meat with jacket potatoe, sometime pasta with meatballs etc. So all in all i dont think my diet is too bad either

on the weekends i partake in very active sports all day on a sunday. i regularly have a few beers on a friday with my friends too - never usually having more than 4-6 pints of cider or lager whatever takes my fancy at the time.

should i cut the drink to see the results i want ?

would it help if i did a food diary next week ?

any help would be appreciated !

What you want to do is work on the weight training first, then the cardio after

My brothers a personal trainer and taught me along time ago and worked wonders

The muscles you want to work are the back, legs and chest but one muslce group per session

ie. legs - mondays
back - wednesdays
chest thursdays

or whatever days suit you

then do 25-30 mins cardio afterwards.. do it.. and you will notice a significant difference

With weights, your metabolism stays higher for up to 48 hours.. if not more when dont properly

Today is Tuesday and i am still feeling the leg session i did Friday..my body is burning calories while i sit here
