hi everyone. my name is james and im new on here. i have been 11 stone for about 8-9 years but lately i have given up work to look after my little boy, over the last few years i have gained weight from 11 stone to just shy of 14. i haver now started cutting back my food and eating more healthly, i have bought a recumbent excercise bike and started doing 20 minutes a night doing 1 min as hard as i can followed by 2 mins normal pace, the 1 min as hard as i can etc etc. i have also read things about a 4 min version of this were you go very hard for 20 seconds then rest for 10 and so this 8 times.
am i going about trying to loose my weight the right way? i dont have time to do alot of things with being full time dad and part time mechanic. im also diabetic which makes my sugar levels drop when excercising
cheers,
james

Dear James,

Everything wrong, that's what you r doing, sorry to tell that, the common mistake of everyone who want to drop weight is start exercising straight away running, cycling - wrong! Unfortunately our body is not a machine, and the first result of your exercising will be big load on your heart, what could lead later to different not very good options with your health, and second all that fat that you gained will become a muscles and if you will decide in a future that it is enough of exercises it will be desert for fat adjournment and your weight will go straight up!
So the choice is yours anyway. But i would recommend to you get your weight down firstly (a bit) and that start to exercise and not with big loads but just for loads of movements.
Good luck!
