A week into January and many people are already struggling to stick to their New Year’s resolutions.
And new research suggests there is reason to be suspicious of people who claim their new exercise regime is still on track.
Researchers found people significantly overestimate the amount of time they spend physically active - and men are the worst offenders.
The experts, who published their research in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, also discovered that both men and women underestimate the amount of time they spend being inactive.
The study authors worked with 1,751 Norwegian men and women aged between 18 and 84.
