I know this is an old post though I still feel the need to reply. When we are stressed or feeling down we often have different ways in which we deal with this, these are our coping mechanisms. These coping mechanisms could be anything from smoking to excessive eating. When we remove our of our coping mechanisms, we will usually need something to replace it so we are not going to something else that could be unhealthy for us, it is quite well known that many people that stop smoking will start putting on weight.
I am a hypnotherapist and I specialise in weight loss and believe that when we remove one coping mechanism we need to find a way to deal with the consequences afterwards. I would recommend looking at ways to learn how to deal with the stress or the emotional issues that may have caused you to lead to smoking in the first place or putting weight on.
This could be spending some good quality time to relax and relieve the stress from the day. I would recommend people to a massage therapist to make you feel good for yourself. Find ways you can treat yourself.
P.S. I believe we owe it to ourselves to keep ourselves fit and healthy for our family and friends. How much will it cost you in the long run if you dont keep your health. Hope this helps.
