Weight Loss Advice

Postby nottmdieter » Wed Feb 22, 2012 5:53 pm

Hi,

I am basically looking for any advice and tips/hints for losing weight as healthily and quickly as possible. I am 6’0 and 248 lbs, I believe that I have let myself get this heavy because I (along with friends/colleagues) don’t physically look this heavy. I have broad shoulders which is why I look more in proportion than other people at my weight, never the less I am much, much heavier that I expected and want to be!

I have set myself a 20 week kind of diet plan where I aim to lose 19/20 lbs so 1lb per week in reality. I have never taken dieting seriously and could do with all the key info on how to do it quickly, but as healthily as possible. I have basically cut out all junk foods, so for instance my current meal plan looks as follows:

Breakfast – Cereal (Shreddies/Weetabix)
Lunch – Ham/Tuna Salad Sandwich, Apple and Banana
Dinner – General meal such as Lasange ect.

I think that Breakfast and Lunch are pretty ok but I have no idea what foods to eat for dinner, or any easy dishes that I can rustle up (not the best cook!)

I play football between 1-3 times a week (5 a side/Sunday mornings) and my fitness is generally okay for that. I am looking to do 2-3 runs a week, starting with 1-2 miles then building up as and when I am able to so any help with running would really be useful, I tend to go too fast which results in me struggling to continue after 1-1.5 miles so aiming to go at a steady pace.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I am naturally quite broad my ultimate aim is to trim down to around 200 lbs, but really I think I need confidence I can lose weight and if I can achieve 20lbs in 20 weeks and get down to 228-232 by July I would be very happy with that.

Thanks Again

For losing your weight do exercises daily for at least 20 minutes. Take diet foods especially vegetarian foods containing raw vegetables and citric fruits such as grapefruit, orange and lemon water for losing the weight.

Weight loss is a general subject at present. Weight loss is like a training time in which necessary to be willpower and still need to control on lifestyle. Exercise and workout can help us to weight loss or helps to maintain our body fit and healthy if we do daily workout and controlling on our diet then we will never be overweight I think.

I found the best way to lose weight is:

Calorie counting,
Team effort (the biggest reason I lost over 10kgs),
and slow and steady!

Dinner - Chicken breast, sweet potatoe, green veg

End of the day the whole eating scenario should be that you don't spike your blood sugar

Banana's do spike your bloody sugar but if thats the only source of sugar you are having a day, then thats okay

I cut out wholemeal bread because i found out it isnt much different to white bread on that side of things and back then my love handles vanished within a couple of weeks and my fat percentage down to 16.9%

Avoid sugar first, then fat but watch the calories in carbs because i was having pasta in lasagne, chicken curry, spag bol when i was with my ex gf and didnt realise the amount was calorific

Most people who successfully lose weight have adopted some plan to follow, be it eating or exercise or both. Scour the internet, talk to your physician or pick brains at the gym to find what plan will work best for your needs and lifestyle.

Hello,
I wanna lose weight. I tried any weight loss programs but without success and I took more kilos. I have heard about green tea and its benefits. What do you think about this? Have you other weight loss tips to give me? Thanks. Mary.
