Too Much Exercise?

I am 35 years of age and currently weigh 11 stone 6 pounds. I used to weigh 16 stone 10 and have lost weight through diet and exercise alone.

Over the christmas period I hurt my back and was unable to exercise for about 6 weeks and hence put on one and a half stone!

Since coming back to work in January I have been sticking to a strict calorie controlled diet (about 1600 per day) and doing exercise 6 days a week. Monday to Friday I am doing about 3 hours of cardio (step and walking uphill on treadmill) I also do spinning twice a week.

My problem is that I have only lost about 5 pounds and for me this is bad - I can usually lose 5 pounds in a week once I start dieting again!

I have been looking on the internet and I think may be I am doing too much exercise and my body is now storing fat. Instead of doing 1.5 hours in morning and 1.5 hours on an evening shall I just do 1.5 hours per day, 5 days per week? I used to work out for approx 2 hours per day before the problem with my back and this seemed to be working. I have never had this problem before. I cant help thinking that surely if I am exercising for 3 hours a day and eating less than I must lose weight!

Can someone please tell me if I am doing something wrong!!!

its not too late to get back on the diet. Youve done so good with watching what youve eaten. Dont give up now. Just think about summer, wearing shorts, going swimming and how much youre going to love the fact that youve lost some weight. You can do what ever you set your mind to do, so set it to get back on your diet

Sometime, you fill, you cant get back. But you should. Dont stop. DO WHAT NEED to be a healthy.
