New guy here to say hello

Postby 247T » Thu Feb 28, 2013 6:55 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and wanted to share some of my weight loss news with you all and also to find out more advice on further weight loss.

So a little about me. I am 32yo male, 2 weeks ago I weighed in at 18stone and 13lbs. I have a job that means I have to sit for minimum 9 hours a day (not a very active job either), I play basketball once a week and i'm of a stocky build.

2 weeks ago I decided to give up added sugars. I went cold turkey on all things I considered bad i.e. Fizzy drinks, sweets, biscuits and general things with added sugars also. Whenever I had sugar cravings I would go for the fruit bowl. In doing this I found I had managed to shift 12lbs in the first week.

I had withdrawal symptoms also with headaches and feeling lethargic but still feeling quite determined after the massive weight loss in such a quick time.

2nd week I felt ambitious so including the no sugar i decided to cut out chips and crisps.

This week I feel so much more energetic and no more headaches and I have lost a further 6lbs.

I'm now looking for advice on further ways to maintain a consistence weight loss with what foods I can have and what is best to give up. I'm still playing my basketball once a week and thinking of starting to work out more.

What do people suggest?

Also, is it dangerous to 12lbs in such a short time. I absolutely shocked myself with that one. :D
